Christmas in Minden, presented by Gibsland Bank & Trust, will be held Friday, December 16th – Saturday December 17th, 2022 downtown Minden!

Friday, December 16th

5:30pm Tree Lighting Ceremony

5:30pm Minden Civic Center

Join us as we light up the City Christmas Tree and kick off the exciting Holiday weekend!

6-9pm Holiday Trail of Lights Hayride

6-9pm Minden Courthouse FREE

Take a tractor-pulled hayride tour of the Historic District and

enjoy Christmas Lights and caroling hosted by Webster Parish Tourism & Dorcheat Museum.

Young Women’s Service Club will be serving Hot Chocolate for $1

6pm Rehab Reindeer Run 5k

6pm Hosted by Minden Medical Center Rehab & Physical Therapy, this year we hope to get everyone in the Christmas Spirit! We will run/walk through downtown Minden, down Elm Street and back, and through Minden’s beautiful historic district all while enjoying Christmas lights, decorations, and music. Come join us for a Jolly Good Time!

Register to Run

Starting Time: Friday, December 16, 2022 6:00pm

Registration: Early Registration is $30 until November 28th. All participants who register by November 28th will receive a long sleeve official Rehab Reindeer Run T-shirt. Late Registration is $35 on November 29th until Race Day. Student Price is $25 at all times. You may pay with a Credit Card online at or with cash, check, or card at MMC Business Office at 346 Homer Road in Minden or Sportspectrum in Shreveport at 6970 Fern Avenue. IPICO timing system is included in registration fee.

Race Course: The course will begin and end at the entrance to Minden Medical Center, #1 Medical Plaza, Minden, LA. Participants will run/walk through downtown Minden, down Elm Street and back, and through Minden’s beautiful historic district all while enjoying Christmas lights, decorations, and music.

Packet Pickup: Thursday, December 15th, 9:00-5pm, in MMC’s Front Lobby at #1 Medical Plaza and on Race Day in front of the hospital Noon-5:30pm before the race.

Race Day Parking: Participants may park in the Minden Medical Center Parking Lot

Age Group Awards: A male and female in each of the following age groups will receive awards: 12 and under, 13-18, 19-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-55, 56-65, 66+. There will also be an overall 1st place male & 1st place female award.

Post Race Party: Following the race we will have complimentary food and drink items provided by local vendors.

Visit and explore activities for all ages. Cost is $20 per child CASH ONLY – includes unlimited rides for the rock climbing wall, Mindwinder, Pirate Ship, Bounce Houses, Pony Rides and more!

11am-2pm Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus

Junior Service League will be providing Smores to roast over the fire for a sweet snack before the parade! Area art students will be painting festive designs for kids to choose from.

1-2pm Storytime, Music and Games with Santa and Mrs. Claus

1-2pm Webster Parish Library – Stewart Center FREE

Experience classic holiday magic by listening to the enchanting reading of

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. The Hurley Music from Centenary College will play in between reading and interactive games to follow.

Immediately following Storytime, Webster READY START Network- Early Childhood will have craft stations set up where you can create your very own Reindeer and Santa finger puppets to take home and enjoy!

Self-guided Book walk will be set up along Main Street from MMC to the library.

1-3pm Christmas Cookie Decorating with The Misfortune Cookie

1-3pm Parish Design Co.

The Misfortune Cookie is coming back and ready to share her cookie decorating skills with you! 6 cookies plus icing for decorating will be provided by The Misfortune Cookie. Cost is $55 per person. A box will be supplied to take your cookies home in once completed.Please contact Parish Design Co. to register.

Meet Rudolph and friends and snap a photo before the parade begins!

This year’s theme will be “Rudolph’s Holly Jolly Christmas.” Entries should feature your favorite Rudolph song or image as inspiration. Build a float or other parade entry to illustrate the theme. Have music playing for an extra touch! You may add lights and colors to make your entry unique. The parade will begin promptly at the corner of Second Street and Main Street and ends at the same location. Line up begins at 2:00pm. Lineup will begin at corner of Second Street and Main Street and continue down to McDonald Street and continue down College Street. PLEASE DO NOT BRING VEHICLES, TRAILERS, OR FLOATS TO LINE UP BEFORE 2:00PM! To Drop off participants to get to their floats, please drop off at Academy Park. Pick up will be in same location at Academy Park.
