DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Webster Council on Aging\, the Miles for Meals 5K is held to raise funds for our Meals on Wheels program to feed senior adults in our community who go without. We will run through neighborhoods around Sheppard Street and end with a post-race party and lunch fundraiser. Join us for an exciting event and help us end senior hunger in Webster Parish. \nStarting Time: 8:00am Saturday\, November 16\, 2019 \nRace Course: The course will begin and end near the Webster Council on Aging parking lot at 1482 Sheppard St. in Minden\, LA. Participants will run/walk through neighborhoods north and south of Sheppard Street. \nRegistration: Early Registration is $25 until November 1st. All participants who register by November 1st will receive a short sleeve official Miles for Meals T-shirt. Late Registration is $30 November 2nd – Race Day. Student Price is $20 at all times. Chip timing is included in registration fee. \nPacket Pickup: Friday\, November 15th\, 8-5pm\, at Webster Council on Aging at 1482 Sheppard St and Race Day 8am-5:45pm before race. \nAge Group Awards: A male and female in each of the following age groups will receive awards: 12 and under\, 13-18\, 19-25\, 26-30\, 31-35\, 36-40\, 41-45\, 46-50\, 51-55\, 56-65\, 66+. There will also be an overall 1st place male & female award. \nGiving to end hunger: We are asking that participants bring canned food items to be used in meals served to feed seniors in our Meals on Wheels program. \nPost-Race Party: Lunch plate tickets will be sold before and after the race so stick around! \nInclement Weather: Call 371-3056 for updates on race day weather.

DESCRIPTION:The 20th Annual Webster Parish Main to Main Trade Days will take place November 1-2\, 2019 along a 50-mile stretch throughout Webster Parish. The Minden and Springhill Main Street Projects will team up with the towns located primarily along Highway 371 as hosts. The route goes from downtown Springhill on Main Street\, then travels south to Cullen’s Main Street\, crosses over to US Highway 371 and continues south into Sarepta\, Cotton Valley and Dixie Inn\, the route turns left on US Highway 80 and goes into downtown Minden. From there shoppers are directed back onto Highway 371 to Sibley and the parish line. \nThe event will include store specials\, antique sales\, flea markets\, garage sales\, food vendors\, bake sales\, church bazaars\, etc. This event will be held rain or shine.
