This exciting event celebrates civic knowledge and engagement—something we need now more than ever. With 74% of Americans believing they understand how our government works, yet 58% failing a basic civics test, it’s clear we have work to do.
Let’s inspire the next generation of informed citizens—right here in the Greater Minden area!
This nonpartisan competition is open to middle school students in grades 6–8. Students start by submitting a short essay, with top entries advancing to the local Regional Round (hosted here!), then State, and ultimately Nationals.
National finalists will compete for cash prizes, national recognition, and a $100,000 529 education savings plan contribution. State winners also earn a $5,000 donation for their school, and local regional winners receive cash prizes, too!
